Looks pretty dope. All I'd say is some of the line work could be cleaned up a little, and the character rotations could use a little more attention too, the spin at around 7 seconds is a bit choppy, a couple extra keyframes there with the features moved a little bit should smooth that out. Even if you didn't do either of those though I'd say this is pretty good. Definitely good enough to use as an intro. Nice work!

yeah, i see what you're saying.
thanks for the feedback, gonna work on my lining and in-betweens when I go back to this.

This is pretty nicely done! I love the style and character design. The appearance of the characters (in the eyes and general head and body designs) look like something straight out of Cartoon Network, clashed with the wobbly-line style in of classic internet animation. It's sleek, it's modern, it's lovely :)

One thing I'd point out though is it sounds like Bob's voice is recorded with lower-quality equipment than the other character so it might be worth considering an upgrade if that's a possibility.

Regardless, this is quite good. Nice work!

BoredIsI responds:

Thank you so much for the nice words! As for Bob, the voice actor's AC was turned on during recording, we didn't notice until later though. The issue will be resolved in the future :)

Try to cut out those repeat frames between the end of the one cycle and the beginning of the next. There should only be one frame of the "neutral" state, other wise it looks like the character is stopping every time they take two steps, then taking two more steps, then stopping, and so forth.

Otherwise, it looks pretty cool, I like the style, and unlike everyone else's comments I think the big feet is unique and makes the character feel more personalized :)

Last recommendation I have would be to put some more effort into the backgrounds to make them more interesting! But I get that this is mostly a test, so it's forgivable.

Nantendo responds:

Right, i actually added the last couple frames of the cycle in because it looked worse before like a big gap but i see what you mean. But thnx a lot bro lol appreciate the comments

This is pretty great :) I gotta say, those are some damn good backgrounds, great work there! Also you definitely put those colour gradients to good use! The story is cute too. The biggest problem I have with this animation is the dialogue is a bit wonky. I just can't really imagine a real person talking like that. It's written strangely and the delivery is just... forced I suppose. So I'd say just work on that vocal delivery and this has potential to be superb. Good work :)

7eo responds:

Thanks a lot!

Haha, you're absolutely right. That's how I felt recording myself ;)
Good critique!

Not bad, I think the introduction is all good and such, and I'm sure your ideas for animations will come out well! What I would say you should improve on is mostly visual delivery, just paying attention to fine details. For example, the part with the "weird things" bucket, as the character falls in they are not filled in with color (even white would work) so the line for the bucket can be seen through the character as if the character was transparent, which is a little strange. I also think some more work put into the backgrounds could go a long way! You could keep it mostly black and white if you want, but just doodling some little scenery behind your character would just make the whole animation more visually appealing.
As far as your audio goes, I think you should make sure to apply some mastering to the audio track to ensure you don't have any clipping if at any point you choose to get loud (which is something you did here). You would want to use a limiter for that and ensure that the audio never crosses over the 0 dB threshold. An EQ would also make sure that the audio sounds full the whole way through.
Overall, good work, and I hope to see more of your work in the future! Good luck :)

It's my fist time I'm still learning and I have a lot of problem while saving file :C
But thank you for your advice ;3
And yes I would love to colour it but I have animate only for 6 days ._.

This is pretty cute! While I do like the simplistic style you were going for, i would like to see this be at least a little bit more fleshed out. I think some more work in the character design would be nice. Backgrounds are a really big thing for me, and you don't really have any of that going on here. Anything is better than nothing, just some splashes of colour, or if you wanted to keep it black and white maybe just some little details to give it more of a setting. You definitely could have spent some more time on certain drawings; for example, the table doesn't look all that great. Also, for the animation style, I do like the sort of wobbly effect you achieve by having two different drawings of the characters alternating between each other, but I think it should be a little bit less extreme to make it easier to look at, and maybe include a few more different drawings and frames so it doesn't look quite so jumpy but does still create that effect. Finally, I think you could put a bit more work into sound effects, even if it's just simply using more sounds.
Like I said, I can definitely appreciate the style you were going for, so I put my vote this high out of principal, but I really do think it could be carried out a bit better. If you have any questions, feel free to message me. I'm looking forward to seeing more from you!

Demetrios responds:

Thank you for the time to type this out! I enjoyed making this animation and it seems we as viewers loved watching it! haha!

As for color, sounds and other great additions, I have a plan to bring them into the following episodes; with each and every episode it should slightly increase in quality. Stay tuned!

Thank you. :)

Nice, I love this. The characters look excellent, and are animated very skillfully. The backgrounds look awesome, and the sound effects are put to good use. Really nice work overall. Personally i'd just like to see it be a bit longer, that's all. :)

VolFMaple responds:

Thank you!
It takes a lot of time to make even that short cartoon.
I'll try to make longer cartoons in future)

Oh my wow. I love this. Awesome puppets, also the 2D animated parts look great. It's dark and it's funny, plus the music is excellent. Really well done, great work!

GruntVonVeizatun responds:

Wow, Thank you so much! I did the 2d cartoons in illustrator/after effects. I used to animate in flash but I havn't touched the program in years. I mainly do puppet videos, and I was a bit nervous posting them here simply because the focus of NG is animation. I figure TECHNICALLY you are animating the puppets manually so I hope this counts. Either way I'm very glad you like this one. Probably my favorite puppet video. Glad you approve!

Damn that was pretty funny. Really good mood changes and stuff going on throughout this piece, I dig. I think sometimes the backgrounds could use some work (like the hearts background is kinda low res), but that definitely doesn't diminish the humour at all. I think maybe the biggest problem is that the voices seem considerably quieter than the music so I had to turn down the volume during the intro, then turn up the volume after to hear the characters. Other than that, it's really good work. I like the style and everything. I just see little problems here and there. Good job.

theBEARtrap responds:

I agree! Thank you, Your feedback is very helpful, the audio and BG will be worked on more for future episodes to.come.

There's really a lot to love here, I think you did some awesome work. That said, i also think there are some things that need improvement. Starting with the audio, I don't really understand your choice in when to raise and lower the volume of the background music. It seems more or less random. Not all of the sounds are equally loud either, so the character's voice is just sometimes really quiet ("come on boy" for example). Once again, I think you should be a bit more careful in taking your frames so that you don't end up with sporadic spurts of choppiness. Just generally smoothing out the animation would improve this a lot. Also once again, I love the way you use fabrics, and the backgrounds this time around look really awesome! So great job there.
My favourite part in all of this is the general aesthetic and I really love the part where we first see the alien ship(?). It looks so cool, such an awesome visual affect.

So overall, really great job. work on that audio and the animation fluidity, and I can easily see you becoming one of the best. Good work, keep it up!

ClayDay responds:

Thank you for your constructive feedback GoodL! I will work on making a more cohesive audio, and taking more time to create better flow between frames.
